The Five

This was a group of people who were scientists and paranormal researchers that studied Abnormals. They were dedicated to the learning of the physical world even by the most unique ways.

They all recieved different gifts in the dealings of life. Helen received longevity of life. Her husband, at tge time, John Druitt, recieved teleportation. Nikolai Tesla recieved control over electricity, and awakened latent Vampire genes, including the ability to heal. Nigel Griffin the gift of invisibility.  James Watson received enhanced intelligence.

Henry Foss

He was found as a child by Helen Magnus. He befriended Ashley and Bigfoot first. He is a computer science geek making him the tech support and weapon designer of the Sanctuary. He is a Warewolf who took diazapam to control his abilities and then quit after being able to control them. He considered having surgery to rid his warewolf side, but eventually chose against it.

Ashley Magnus

Helen Magnus and John Druit are Ashleys parents. Helen kept her embryo frozen for over s century. She retrieves the embryo after John leaves and she could no longer stand the loneliness of her immortality. She becomes an expert Abnormal hunter just like her mother. She is close to her mother, however she prefers to kill hostile Abnormals.

Kate Freelander

She is con artist, who had connections with the Cabel.  She is able to help the team with them. She was born in Mumbai and grew up in Chicago. Her father was killed in an explosion.

Nichola Tesla

Nichola Tesla was born July 10, 1856 in Austria and died on January 7, 1943 in Manhattan New York.  He died at age 86. He was the second oldest of five children.

He was an engineer and scientist. He contributed to commercial electricity and layed the foundation for wireless technology. He was part of an inter-continental wireless transmission.

Helen Magnus

Helen Magnus is a 157 taratoligist who was born in the early 19^th century. She is the daughter of a renowned scientist Gregory Magnus and Katherine Heathering. Her mother was very close to Louis Pasteur, Helen’s godfather. She was unwilling to accept the limits placed on woman in her era.  She asked her father to reveal the secrets he kept underneath the mansion after being denied the entry of medical school. He regretfully did so.  He used his influence to get her into Oxford.  She was the only woman at the school, thus isolating her, and making her feel isolated. Her expertise is in crypto-zoology and xenobiology although her skills can vary. She is 157, when she finds Will Zimmermon, and gets him involved in her work. After being denied a position as a medical doctor, she asked Gregory to introduce her to his work.

As her father introduced her to his work with abnormals, and used his influence to have Helen attend Oxford. She made few friends there, but the friends she made shared her interests immensely. James Watson, John Duitt, Nikola Telsa, and Nigel Griffin became her close friends and thus became the Five.

The Five

Before the disappearance of her father, on a trip to Mecca, she formed the five, a group of the people listed above. Helen acquired Vampire blood. She and the others in the Five each took it and acquired different powers. Helen managed to help the others to control their new found powers except her lover, John Duitt. He was known in history by a few names such as  Jack the Ripper. John’s insanity kept him from controlling these animal instincts that the potion brought out. Ashley, her daughter was originally conceived in the 1880s.

Leader of the Sanctuary

For over a century Helen has overseen the Sanctuary Network. She tracks protects and learns from extraordinary and paranormal creatures behind those walls. She serves as house head of her Sanctuary as well as Global head of the Sanctuary Network throughout the world. She knew many great historical leaders. She was aboard the Titanic when it hit the Iceberg. In 1912 and witnessed the Nazi surrender.
